Watershed is nearly one year old!
Watershed powers climate action for businesses: companies use Watershed to help halt climate change by measuring and reducing their carbon emissions. The world needs deep carbon reductions as fast as possible, and our customers are at the forefront. It's good for the planet and it's good business for them: investors, customers, employees, and governments are all demanding action.
Here's the overview on the past six months:
Customers: We've had a lot of firsts: our first customers outside the US (Canada, UK), our first public company customers, and our first hardware manufacturers and delivery companies. We're proud to support awesome customers, and we've started showing some on our new site. Customer urgency is mounting as the climate crisis grows in visibility and leading companies raise the bar [pdf] on cutting carbon. Meanwhile, existing customers are using Watershed to set paths to net zero, measure emissions deep in their supply chain, and switch stores, offices, and employee homes to clean power.
Team: We've grown from three people to seven (with an eighth on the way). Kasra Kyanzadeh joined from Airtable in July. Then in September, we welcomed Leen Badr-El-Din from Opendoor, Daniel Chiu from Harvard, and Spike Brehm from Airbnb. Marissa Liu from Western is joining next year after school. And Kelly Sims will be advising Watershed on communications, brand, and marketing.
Product: We've been doing a lot of shipping. Check out this video to see the current product in action:

Last but not least, we shipped a new version of the website.
This week, we're spending a lot of time as a newly enlarged team and thinking long-term together. We feel the pent-up demand of companies looking for the right way to take climate action, and our core work today is to flesh out the product while growing to serve more customers. Watershed's ten-year goal is to help customers collectively reduce their emissions by 500 megatonnes of CO2e per year, roughly 1% of current global emissions.

It's a complete joy, now of all times, to work with a tight-knit team of excellent people. There is incredible urgency to the work: we're going from zero to one on the product and data infrastructure, scaling to new companies, and helping our customers put their dent in global emissions. We'd love your help finding great people to join us. We've listed some roles below, but more than anything else, we're looking for the right hard-working person who's passionate about building something that matters.
